This zine was inspired by the writings and work of dynamite urban critic and journalist, Jane Jacobs. Throughout the mid-late 20th century, Jacobs’ work brought to light the importance of planning cities and communities with people in mind.
Most notably, Jacobs worked to halt the construction of an expressway through Lower Manhattan in the late 1950s-1960s. By protesting this construction project, Jacobs protected the culture and history of Greenwich Village and SoHo, among other communities.
