See the Midwest is a series of zines celebrating the music of the American Midwest. Inspired by travel pamphlets found at rest stops and history centers, the zines feature information about Midwestern history, along with lists of Midwestern songs.
Each zine centers around a theme, which informs the historical and musical information found inside. Downwind, Downtown, explores Midwestern cities. Rustbelt Reveries, is a tribute to the past, present, and future of the Rustbelt. River, Lake, Sun, and Rain speaks to the bold and unpredictable weather of the Midwest.
The songs featured in each zine were suggested by friends and family. Just as every Midwesterner comes from a unique place and background, the songs featured in these zines come from a variety of eras and genres.
