SNPJ Lodge 723 (2026) is a zine honoring the Slovenian National Home in Fontana, California. A longtime social hall and convening space for Slovenian-Americans and other community members in Southern California’s Inland Empire, the space recently closed its doors. This zine combines personal writings, images from the social hall’s Facebook page, and Google Maps images from other local establishments. A tribute to a space I had never visited, but whose energy radiates from a digital archive created by locals and visitors, I honor the space.
Materials include water color, colored pencil, pen and ink, and marker, charcoal pencil, and collage.
